I have 100mb download and 20 upload for cable modem. when connect from pc to modem, I got the correct result. however, connecting to a cisco 2811, I got total of 30 MB download and 20mb upload. running speedtest.net. I hardcoded auto speed and full duplex. I also try half, auto, full.. ect.. but it did not correct the issue. I read somewhere on the forum that my router need to be upgrade. I am using cisco router 2811. any help greatly appreciated.

The 2811 can push about 60 MBit/s, which will get reduced by NAT, FW or whatever services you are running. This device is to slow for a 100/20 connection.
Still, the download should be a little bit better! First look at your interface counters for any errors and also take a look at the CPU load.

My experience with 2811s, w/o using NAT or FW, but using QoS, their performance topped out around 40 to 45 Mbps.
As Karsten suggests, look at your CPU stats.

I end up using our ASA 5010 which has the license plus to activate gig port and connect straight to the cable modem. there isn't any dynamic routing in our environment. So once it is up. I did a speed test and it reach close to 100mb.. like 91mb..
thanks all for your advise...
