Hi Ajay,
Sorry the question is not clear.
You have the following:
Switch 4500 device
1- Sup
2- Linecards.
What type of redundancy are you taking about?
Redundancy are two types :
1- H/W redundancy
2- S/W redundancy
1-H/W redundancy:
a- Have two switches and make it redundant so that if one the other takes it over.
b- One chasis with two Sup modules. so in case one of the Sup modules goes bad the other takes over and the switch still be able to confinue forwarding the data.
2- S/W redundancy: Using the FHRP(HSRP,VRRP,GLBP).
Please let me know if this has not answerd your query and you were looking for other solution.

Hi Inayath,
Nice to response you.!
Yah!, i am more considering on hardware redundancy.
I have already on cisco catalyst 4500 switch with chasiss Cisco 4506, Sup engine WS-X4516 Supervisor and 2 line card (WS-X4424 - GB - RJ45 - 1No, WS-X4548 - GB - RJ45 - 1No).
Now i am ready to buy one more cisco catalyst 4500 switch with all.
Because in 4506 chasiss, there is only one slot for sup engine. And Sup engine V is no longer sell by cisco.
So please update me with compatible hardware to existing sup engine and line card.
(Is it sup engine v-10ge is compatible with sup engine v.?)
