Hi all,
I'm having issues upgrading the firmware on a 1101 rugged router. I transferred the new firmware using
TFTP
from my laptop to the router. However, after using the
boot system flash bootflash:filename
command and reloading, it goes into a boot loop saying:
TFTP boot
command not supported
........
autoboot: boot failed, restarting...
Resetting .......
I'm able to boot to rommon to choose a firmware to boot to and after checking boot variables it shows this:
BOOT variable = tftp:ir1101-universalk9.17.09.03.SPA.bin 255.255.255.255,12;tftp:ir1101-universalk9.17.09.03.SPA. 255.255.255.255,12;flash:/ir1101-universalk9.17.09.03.SPA.bin,12;bootflash:ir1101-universalk9.17.09.01.SPA.bin,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable does not exist
BOOTLDR variable does not exist
Configuration register is 0x2102
Standby not ready to show bootvar
Why does it keep trying to boot to
tftp?
I tried some commands to remove that first part of the bootvar, but it's still there.

Never mind. Issue was resolved.
When attempting to remove the "tftp" line in the boot variable, I was copy and pasting from
sh boot
.
tftp:ir1101-universalk9.17.09.03.SPA.bin
This was incorrect. After I copied and pasted what I saw in
sh run
, I was able to remove that part of the boot variable.
