Replacing ISR G2 with LTE module

Hi,

Im on the process of replacing an existing ISRG2 with LTE w/ C1111-4LTE. Im just wondering, what would be the requirements when i transfer the sim from the ISR G2 to the new router? Should i create a new profile on the new router? How do i copy the profile from the old router?

1) the SIM must have the correct size (micro vs nano?)
2) some settings must match the provider

on the existing router start with "show cellular xxxxx profile"  and "show cellular xxxx firmware "
(or "show cellular xxxxx" all if you want everything at once)
this information is not found in the running-config

in the profile you may need to modify the APN
the firmware used may need to change, fortunately there is an "auto" mode

sho cel 0/1/0 firmware

Hi,

Just to verify, so i need to copy over the profile to new router right? How do we do that?

I already mentioned the show commands to retrieve the current settings
then use a similar command on the new router

cellular 0/2/0 lte profile create 1 simstaticip.com
or
cellular 0/2/0 lte profile create 1 advancedinternet
