(I)When will a RIP enabled router sends a unicast message.

(II)According to RFC,(1)when a packet with address family identifier 0 and IP =0 it is intended to send the whole routing table. When authentication is enabled the Address family identifier will be 0xFFFF. In this case how will the router handles such type of message. Will it sends the whole table or updates its database.

1) RIP uses unicast when the neighbor command is configured under the RIP process. Without this command, it uses multicast (default).

2) RIP sends the whole routing table on every update (distance vector) with the exception of entries suppressed by the split horizon rule.
