Route the default gateway (wrong IP) of a device to a different IP

Hello,

I have a C1111-4P router and was wondering if I can put a route that will redirect the

default gateway

of a device.

My device has an

IP of 10.10.15.66/28

with a

default gateway to 10.253.65.254,

but it should have been to 10.10.16.78. Is there way I can have the router send traffic from 10.10.15.66 for 10.253.65.254 to 10.10.16.78?

Thank You.

If I am understanding this correctly, you have a device behind the router that has an IP on the LAN but the gatwaway which should be the routers inside interface is incorrectly set to 10.253.65.254.

Obviously, the correct solution is to change this on the device, but you could also try a secondary IP using

ip 10.253.65.254 255.255.255.0 secondary

on the inside interface. You may also be able to destination

NAT

the packet, or some other tricks coming inbound. Dest

NAT

may work, PBR I do not think will because the packet is destined to the router iteslf not beyond it.

Thank you for your reply. My network is a bit more complicated. I have

10.253.65.0 LAN <--->firewall <---->Router<---->10.10.15 LAN

10.253.65.254 is still good for other devices because it is the LAN interface of the firewall. I basically want to see if it is possible to

catch

the packet from 10.10.15.66 destined to 65.254 thru the router and forward it to the proper IP. The device is at remote location so I am trying to figure out a temporary solution until it is fixed at the source.

Thank You.

Only this traffic form this host?

If yes then use pbr to redirect traffic

Thank you I will give it a try.
