router 1401

i have a cisco 1401 adsl router, when i try to connect to the console, it's displaying weird caracters.

i tried the break sequence, but nothinG

does anyone have an idea on how to connect to the router ?

Are these characters continuously appearing on screen. Try changing different speeds 9600, 19200 etc. to see if they make any sense.
