Hi,
Things you can check:
1. Try different cable
2. Try from a different computer
3. Try using a different program such as Putty, Teraterm, SecureCRT, etc.
4. Check the lights on the 2801 to make sure it's booting fine.
Let's isolate the issue.
Federico.

Hello Pedro,
In addition to what Federico said. Is the console cable connected to your PC or laptop by regular 9 pin adaptor that comes with Cisco devices or by USB?

yes, i try with a pc using COM1, and with a laptop using a USB-serial adaptor.
