Hi,

I have one problem in my Client end router cisco 1841.

Everyday we switch on the router it will automatically goes to ROMMON mode.

So i take remotly and check wheather the IOS is corrupted or not.

So i use the command dir flash: to check IOS is available or not. i found the IOS is there. But it is not boot from IOS.

So i use the coomand boot xxxx.bin to boot from IOS.and finally it booted.

i am not able to do this work everyday.

Anyone give the permanent solution.

But i search in the internet they give some steps.

They told to use the coomand confreg in the ROMMON mode.

And also i check everything fine.

Kindly give me the solution.

In ROMmon mode, please enter the command "confreg 0x2102".

Once you have booted the router in normal mode you need to set up the boot and config register

Router(config)# boot system flash: filename

Router(config)#config-register 0x2102

Save the configuration and reload the router

It should work

As per u advice i am tried but it again come same problem.

can u tell anyother way to solve the issue.

You said that when you use the boot command it boots in IOS ok.

While in IOS use "show version" and "show flash:" and post the output

Nothing wrong with your "sh ver" and "dir" output.

Can you provide the output to the command "sh run | i boot"?

May I ask if you can console into the router and reboot?  I would like to see the complete bootup process.

I have a same issue, but it is not always. I saw that router suddenly goes to ROMmon without any reason.

I like to know whether you found the reason or solution.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Not always?  Maybe your router crashed?
