i need to know is there a problem in running different ip addresses of different ranges and redistributing the same in the network..
eg i already have network running on 172.*.*.* series and now in ordr to cover new branches i need to run 10 series also and redistribute the same along with 172 which is already present.
To use more ips in 172 series will require downtime (totla branches =800).
Kindly suggest..

There is nothing to prevent you from doing what you want. But its probably not optimal.
1. You state you are using 172,x,x,x. are you using this as a class A address space? If you are, then re visit your addressing policy, and look to conserve address space using VLSM.

Vmiller, you are right on. If they are using 172.*.*.* with an A mask, VLSM is the most appropriate solution to this problem. With 800 locations a little IP addressing scheme check can make this a lot easier. Not to mention the improvements in the routing tables. Are you guys using a VLSM capable routing protocol?
