Router reboot reason

Hi All,

Bellow is the show version command of CISCO ASR 1000F route:

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(17r)SX5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

HOSTNAME uptime is 1 hour, 5 minutes

Uptime for this control processor is 1 hour, 4 minutes

Time since HOSTNAME switched to active is 1 hour, 4 minutes

System returned to ROM by  power cycle at 19:06:57 BDT Sun Dec 26 2010 (SP by power on)

System restarted at 19:28:07 BDT Sun Jun 19 2011

System image file is "sup-bootdisk:s72033-ipbase-vz.122-33.SXI2a.bin"

Last reload reason: Reload Command

cisco WS-C6509-E (R7000) processor (revision 1.5) with 1040384K/8192K bytes of memory.

Processor board ID SMC134900GW

SR71000 CPU at 600Mhz, Implementation 1284, Rev 1.2, 512KB L2 Cache

Last reset from s/w reset

116 Virtual Ethernet interfaces

99 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

10 Ten Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

1917K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.

65536K bytes of Flash internal SIMM (Sector size 512K).

Configuration register is 0x2102

Patching is not available since the system is not running from an installed image.

To install, please use the "install file" command.

From the output it seems that the router has been reloaded due to reload command. I have tried to compare with other Cisco 3900 series router and Cisco 4500 series switch. None of the show the output as same way. So does the router rebooted due to relaod command or power cycle? Beside this what does it mean by "patching is not available" at the bottom of the output.

Thanks

Fakrul

Why do you believe this is an ASR1000?

If you look at the reported date of the power cycle it is from last year, so I would ignore that. Instead the reload command would seem more likely. What does the output of the command remote command switch show nvlog look like?

You are running Modular IOS. In earlier versions there was the option to install it, but I believe that was removed in 12.2(33)SXI3 so I would ignore that output.

Sorry, I missed out. It's Cisco 6509 switch.

Does this switch have dual supervisors? If so please get the output of the nvlog for the standby supervisor.

From the nvlog output it looks like the supervisor was reset due to external forces since the last two logs are initialized as active. If the switch was rebooted by the cli or crahsed I would expect to see a corresponding entry in this log.

Thanks for your quick response.

No there is only one superviros. I have checked the module. It show the following output:

HOSTNAME#show module

Mod Ports Card Type                                                       Model

--- ----- --------------------------------------                          ------------------ -------------------------

If this is the case, that what is does the "Last reload reason: Reload Command" means?

Fakrul,

Did you ever find out what was the issues.

If this is the case, that what is does the "Last reload reason: Reload Command" means?

I have a 6500 that reloads every two weeks based on the nvlog and got the same output on the show ver.

Post your output to the command "sh version".

The switch does not have a dual sup. The system reloads and does not provide a crashinfo fiile if it does crash.

Im wondering if it is tied to CSCtb27643 or if there are any known issues with silent reloads on the currernt code i am running.
