Hi.
We currently have a connection to our WAN via static routing.
We are changing our provider and BGP will be configured on the switch to support this.
In the interim though, one of our sites will need to access the services that exist behind the old provider.
So we will connect the switch to new and old provider.
We will configure BGP on the switch for the new provider, and keep existing static routing for the old provider.
My question is: Will this work? or are we missing something?
Thank you

Since static routing takes precedence over eBGP (administrative distance of static routes is 1, that of eBGP 20), that should work. What services are being used behind both providers ? I assume those are in different address spaces ?

Hi.
Thanks for your response.
The two routers from different vendors will connect to lan layer 3 switch. Switch is currently configured with static routing. When the second router plugs in, bgp will be used to route traffic. Both routers will be in use. The old router connection will still be connected to production equipment. The first site that we will setup up will be connected to the new router. That site will need access to production. So traffic will need to route from new router to new router through the switch. Hope that makes sense.
