RT(VRF): NET-RED 0.0.0.0/0 - every 60 secs.

Hi All,

starting debug ip routing I am observing the following message every 60 secs in my buffer log:

RT(VRF): NET-RED 0.0.0.0/0

There are only 2 static routes configured, no any dynamic routing protocols.

What this message means exactly? Is there any change in CEF, FIB?

Any idea?

Thank You

jozef m.,

Hello Jozef,

there are BGP scanner timers that apply also to

address-family ipv4 vrf vrf-name

if you have redistribute static within it.

the BGP scanner verifies routes.

this net-red is a check of redistribute static in af ipv4 vrf vrf-name.

Until the static routes are valid there is no changes in CEF and FIB.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello Giuseppe ,

OK, there is VRF configured, but it's standalone box, there is no BGP (nor any other dynamic routing protocol), no redistribution configured on the BOX.

Hello Jozef,

there is probably a scheduled check performed by the VRF routing table mantainer even without BGP af ipv4 vrf vrf-name.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
