Hello,
I have a Cisco RV042 Firmware Version : v4.2.3.08.
I am trying to configure a VPN.
I have created a Client to Gateway under Group VPN & Created User for the same.
I am using Quick VPN on my remote client computer which has Windows 10.
When I try to connect it goes through Connecting, activating policy , verifying network. Then i get a window "The remote gateway is not responding.Do you want to wait?"
Under my VPN Client Status in Router it show Status "Online" & also the duration of connection.
I have checked the time on the Router , its correct.
I have tried to disable & Enable Windows Firewall, its still the same.
Have turned Windows Defender as well.
Does some one know how to get the issue fixed.

Hello,
the Windows firewall actually has to be turned on. Have you created an inbound and outbound rule for ICMP on the firewall, as described in the short video below (start at about minute 3) ?

Hello George,
Thanks for you reply.
I created the ICMP rule as listed but its still the same.
Some links suggested to change the MTU to Auto as I had if on Manual =1492.
But making that change as well did not make any difference.
It is till the same.
Can there be any other setting that we need to change.
Regards,
Mack

Hello,
actually, a multitude of issues could cause this. I have googled around, and even running Adobe Creative Cloud could cause problems.
Try and run the VPN Client in Compatibility Mode (go to the 'Properties' of the shortcut and select the 'Compatibility' tab).
Also, have you tried to reboot the RV042 ?

Hello,
Yes, I have rebooted the Rv042.
Infact I did a router factory reset as well before starting to work on it today as I did not have much luck earlier before factory reset.
I tried to run in compatibility mode with Windows 8 but that did not work, it just got stuck on Connecting.
I am working with windows 10.
Had to restart the computer for the connection to reach again till "The remote gateway is not responding"

Hello,
a few other things you could try: run the app as administrator, and in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
Also, if you use the certificate, make sure you save it in:
C:\Program Files\Cisco Small Business\QVPN Client

Hello Georg,
Thanks for trying to help me out.
I have saved the Certificate & now I don't get the certificate prompt.
I tried running the app as administrator and in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
Its still the same Err. "The remote gateway is not responding".
I tried to connect using a old Windows 7 & that connected fine.
This indicates there is some setting in Win 10 that needs to be checked.
And all our computers are Windows 10 so VPN is expected to work with Win10.

Mack

Hello Mack,
just to be sure, you need to run at least AntConnect 3.1MR10(3.1.10010) on your clients...
AnyConnect Compatibility with Microsoft Windows 10
AnyConnect 3.1MR10 (3.1.10010) and later are compatible with Windows 10 official release. Technical Assistance Center (TAC) support will be available beginning on 7/29/2015.
For best results, we recommend a clean install of AnyConnect on Windows 10 system and not an upgrade from Windows 7/8/8.1. If you are planning to perform an upgrade from Windows 7/8/8/1 with AnyConnect pre-installed, make sure that you first upgrade AnyConnect prior to upgrading the Operating System. The Network Access Manager module must be uninstalled prior to upgrading to Windows 10. After the first upgrade is complete, it can be re-installed on the system. You may also choose to fully uninstall AnyConnect and re-install one of the supported versions after upgrading to Windows 10.

Hello,
I tried to download AnyConnect 3.1MR10 from Cisco Website.
But it states I must have a service contract to download. My router is 2 years old & I am not under any service contract.
Is there any thing else we can do about this.
Regards.

Hello,
you can download 3.1.13 here. Check if that fixes the issue.
