RV325 configured as router

ScotLHarris

Attempting to setup the following site.

Remote site --- C3750E ---  RV325 --- VPN/Internet ---  ASA --- corporate network

The RV325 is configured in router mode.

On LAN it has a 30 bit subnet configured that is connected to the C3750E.

Able to ping from remote site VLAN to RV325.

Unable to ping interface on ISPs device connected to the RV325.

Routing table appears to be correct on RV325.  Shows Remote Site LANs with next hop going to C3750E and default route going to ISPs device on the WAN side.

Unable to route to Internet.

Suspect NAT issue.  Have PAT configured to allow ports 80, 443, etc.  But does not appear to pass traffic.

Can bring up the VPN connections between the RV325 and ASA but does not appear to pass traffic from the local LANs.

Have used a few of the RV325 units successfully at other remote locations but in gateway mode with VPNs configured with a single VLAN at the remote location.

CLI interface to RV325 has limited capability.

Are there some documents available that show the RV325 used in router mode?

Hello,

I don't think you can use the RV325 as an Internet edge device when configured in router mode. This is an excerpt from the attached admin guide:

Working Mode—Controls the behavior of the device in relation to the WAN
connection. Gateway Mode is selected when the device is hosting an
Internet WAN connection. Router Mode is selected when the device is on a
network that does not have a WAN connection or another device is used to
establish the WAN connection.

Router—Choose this mode if the device is on a network with other routers
and another device is the network gateway to the Internet or this network is
not connected to the Internet. In Router mode, Internet connectivity is
available to the network devices only if you have another router that
functions as the Gateway. Since firewall protection is provided by the
gateway, disable this device firewall.

Check pages 12 and 41 of the attached user guide:
