Hi Guys,
I am using packet tracer 5 .3 for simulating CCNA lab scenarios.Iam watching jeremies 2007-2008 ccent videos. He talks about configuring the router as DHCP server using SDM.He did use real routers so he was able to install and run SDM.Well,i am confused as to how to simulate SDM on packet tracer?
Is thier a way?or i need to get a router?I know many will say SDM questions hardly comes in the tests,But i want to make sure i cover all topics before i decide to gamble 250 us dollars.Another thing...since the videos are too old ,is there any chance that SDM is not in the syllabus anymore?Because i just couldnt find a downloadable version anywhere.I seriously need help.

Hi,
SDM is mentioned is 3 places in the blueprint for CCNA. If you have any of the current books for CCNA and the author does not mentioned it anywhere, I wouldn't worry too much about configuring SDM. If you know everything else in the blueprint, you should be fine.

hi,
AFAIK, you can't do this in PT. i would suggest using GNS3 to simulate this instead.
good luck in your CCNA!

Hi,
as John answered you can't do this with PT but with GNS3 it's really simple.
I think you can still get SDM by Net Acad but it has been replaced by CCP for about 1 year.
Regards.
Alain.
