Good day everyone
I am going to implement SR-TE in multi-area OSPF environment but after configuration of the routers, SR-TE dynamic (igp) Policy on A3 router in OSPF area 1 that is connected to OSPF Backbone area doesn't come up for the B3 router that is in A2 area, which is also connected to Backbone area. It says:
Name: *2.2.2.3|104 (Color: 104 End-point: 2.2.2.3)
Owners : BGP-PFP-AUTO
Status:
Admin: up, Operational: down for 12:11:06 (since 12-17 12:39:25.978)
Candidate-paths:
Preference 20 (BGP-PFP-AUTO):
Dynamic (inactive)
Inactive Reason: destination node not in topology
Metric Type: IGP
Attributes:
Binding SID: 49
Allocation mode: dynamic
State: Programmed
So, i want to resolve this problem but after many hours of troubleshooting still cannot find the solution.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Hi @dundient ,
By default, you can only configure an explicit path to the tail end that is not in the same area. The reason being that since the head end does not have the entire link state information, it can't calculate the path to the tail end that is part of another area. If you want to use a dynamic path, you could use a PCE to calculate it. You would need to make sure the PCE receives the link state information from both the head end and tail end areas.

After connecting the PCE controller policies now became up.
As always, you are the life saver @Harold Ritter . Thank you
