seq number in route-map

what's the significance of seq number in route-map command say for ex there are two route-maps with same name with different seq num the one whcih has the less seq num will be given prefernce?

The lower sq# will be looked at first. 4 ex.

route map Cisco permit sq 1

route map Cisco deny sq 2

If the packet matches the first statement, it will apply the policy under sq 1. If there is no match, it will go to sq 2 and look for a match. If there is still no match, the matching game is stopped.
