hi , why serial link are converted to multilink and then it is used in the router : what is the advantage and purpose of the partiular logiacl converstion

to multilink serial links is to increase the bandwidth by enabling multiple serial links to be aggregated into a single bundle of bandwidth.
ie: two T1s bundled would provide ~3mb bandwidth.
multilink connections are used on point-to-point interfaces.
load balancing can also be a benefit of a multilink bundle.

hi,,,
multilink is the logical bundle of multiple serial or any otherlink...in this u r creating one multilink group and u make a different interface member of the same group...now those interface works as the logicaly one big pipe of bandwidht...and u can also have load balncing in that...u can say its one kind of aggrigation...
