SG100-16 Not connecting

I've recently purchased a an SG100-16 unmanaged switch for more ethernet ports as we have added 2 more pc's and 2 more network printers which our router can no longer support more connections.

We have an Smart RG wireless router with 4 ports.

I've connected the router to the switch and then connected the new devices but nothing connects or works.

I tested the cat5e cable by connecting it directly to the router and verified the cable is ok.

I've restarted the pc's that are connected to the switch and while its booting the pc's port on the switch turns green while booting then orange once pc is booted.

The cat5e cable from router to switch lights up in green on the left side nothing on the right side light.

I'm not sure what else to do as this was suppose to be easy to setup with no configuration according to the brochure and the cisco site.

Please help.
