Shaping, Policing and congestion management...

hi,

i want some example so that i can clearly understand at which situation shaping, policing and congestion managment is halpful and how they work??? i have clear idea how they work but i want to understand the condition through some actual scenario so please help me to make it more clear... because it is not possible to study the QOS in small lab without bulk of traffic..
