Hi Everybody,
I want to connect my office to my another office which is 5 Kms away. I donot want to use Leased Line / Internet or Optical Fiber cable due to cost concerns.
I can lay a dead pair copper cable between offices. What is the best Cisco Device i can use to connect my office using dead copper cable?
I heard using SHDSL Technology it is possible. Can anybody suggest me the solution

5 Km is too much for LAN extender. As mentioned before, look at the HWIC-SHDSL module, these can work with 1 or 2 dry pairs.

Yes, there are the HWIC-SHDSL card that you can use.
You will notice however, that if you have to physically lay the cable, fiber can actually be cheaper than copper.

Hi
I just found one product Cisco 878 having G.SHDSL Interface. Whether it will suite?
Moreover what is the difference between SHDSL and G.SHDSL

Yes, the 878 can be used back-to-back. There is no difference, just terminology.
