Can you tell us about the configuration of the Nexus? Is it using VDC? If so which VDC are you in? How many routed interfaces does it have? Can you post the output of show ip interface brief?

Thank you for your reply.

We only have one default VDC. The below is part output of show ip interface brief:

N7k# show ip interface bri
IP Interface Status for VRF "default"(1)
Interface IP Address Interface Status

Vlan3005 192.168.7.31 protocol-up/link-up/admin-up
Lo200 100.200.200.1 protocol-down/link-down/admin-down
Eth8/15 10.24.1.6 protocol-down/link-down/admin-up

------

N7k# show ip arp

Flags: * - Adjacencies learnt on non-active FHRP router
+ - Adjacencies synced via CFSoE
# - Adjacencies Throttled for Glean
D - Static Adjacencies attached to down interface

IP ARP Table for context default
Total number of entries: 0
Address Age MAC Address Interface

Thank you for the additional output. It shows just one physical interface which is down, and two virtual interfaces one of which is down. If there is only one interface which is up then I can explain your problem. The one interface which is up sends an arp request but there is no interface which can send an arp response. So there are no entries in the arp table.
