SLB with NAT plus NAT?

Hi,

we have IOS SLB configured on 12.3(5b)

ip slb serverfarm WWWFARM1

**nat server**

real 192.168.10.11

weight 1

faildetect numconns 255 numclients 8

retry 20

inservice

real 192.168.10.12

weight 1

faildetect numconns 255 numclients 8

retry 20

inservice

real 192.168.10.13

weight 1

faildetect numconns 255 numclients 8

retry 20

inservice

.

.

.

ip slb vserver VWEB1

virtual <Public IP> tcp www

serverfarm WWWFARM1

sticky 1200

inservice standby webgroup

Fairly standard?! There is also a requirement for the 'real' servers to ftp out to the Net. Can we configure static NAT to allow this outbound without disturbing the NAt running as part of SLB i.e. Are they 'seperate'?

Thanks!

I guess both of them are independant of each other, you could try configuring Static NAT to achieve FTP for the real server. It should work. Just make sure that the configuration of NAT for the Server load Balancing does not clash with the static Nat configuration for FTP.

Thanks for your reply.Beginning to despair!

I configured static NAT for the real server to overload on the outside external IP address of the 3725.

A few problems:

1. Can create an FTP Control connection outbound to public FTP servers, can't actually transfer data. I think this is an issue with Active/Passive FTP. Passive should work.

2. Monitoring of these internal servers via SNMP, etc. has broke with the addition of the NAT statement.

Any thoughts on how I can achieve outbound ftp without disturbing current SLB and SNMP?

Any help appreciated.
