Smart licensing

I have a Cisco C1111 running IOS version 17.12.4a,  and i have a security license that i converted from traditional to smart licensing. My question now is how do I apply the license to the device? 

The reason I converted it to smart license is because this IOS version does not have the "license install" command. It only supports smart licensing.

You need to register the device with Cisco smart licensing.

The best approach is to convert it to a smart lic. using cisco's license registration portal. You could check with TAC or your cisco acount manager if you need assistance with this conversion.
