I heard that if you get SmartNET on Cisco WLC or 3850 switch, then APs are also covered under them.
Is this true?

Yes and no. Depends on which APs. If you have EoS APs then they are no longer covered.

Adding to Leos post. Cisco 802.11n AP come with a limited lifetime warranty. You can get a 10 business day RMA, without having to carry a smartnet contract on them.
