I have a router cisco 2600, sometime because of nat (1Mbits of nat trafic), cpu can reach about 90%.
I try tuning nat, but the result is not good.
Please, is it possible to configure or external equiment to monitore cpu or nat entries, and specifies to this equipment to automaticaly reset the router when cpu reach 80% usage.
Example:
If cpu reach >80% reset
else nothing.
All help will be appreciated.
Best regards.

Configuring RMON will help you. For more details regrading configuring RMON kindly follow the url given below,

With SNMP you can monitor CPU
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios124/124cr/hnm_r/nmg_04h.htm#wp1028163
But dont you think its a little drastic to reload a router on this situation? wouldnt it be better to look for solutions for the cpu issue? maybe even limiting the traffic rate?
