Specific subnets refreshed BGP

Hi,

The situation is, I have a BGP peering with a service provider, they have several subnets advertised to me.

What happened is that there are only 2 subnets that were refreshed.

My question is what would be the possible cause of the problem? I already ask the service provider but unfortunately only the routes advertised to us refreshed. On their side where in the routes originated did not refreshed, only in our side.

what are the probable causes of this?

Thanks for the help.

Hello

I am not sure I understand your query - Are you saying the prefixes your are suppose to receive from you ISP have not been advertised to you or some but not all have been removed?

what i mean is, if you issue show ip route you will see the uptime from the time the network was advertised.  for example I have 10 subnets advertised to me, what happened is only 2 subnets were refreshed, while the others are up for weeks.

I already ask the service provider to check their side but still no feedback.

I'm looking for some answers on what would have caused the 2 subnets to be refreshed.

Hello,

This has to be answered by service provider. They have to check in PE router if those two subnets routes refreshed as well.

Between where are those two subnets advertised from i mean are they from any of your remote site?

yes, they are advertised from the client through the service provider then to us.

I will chase the service provider to provide us RFO for the two subnets.

thanks.

Hi,

IMHO, this could be caused by those two subnets were not advertised by the provider to you for some time.

It could be just a short flap due to the remote router or line device restart.

Best regards,

Do you mean out of N subnets advertised by service provider only 2 subnets refreshed ? Can you check with service provider if they see the same in PE router?

I've already asked them to check on their side, but unfortunately still no feedback
