Hi All,
I was checking cisco router with some different configuration.
ISP (122.160.43.1)<--------------------------->(vlan2)(122.160.43.105/30)ASA5505(ios 8.2)
And internet is absolutely working fine. Still couldn't figure out what must be the configuration on the ISP to make it work.
Please help me understand how this will be working with gateway in different subnet.
Regards,
Ravi

Hi,
This is a PPP feature known as ppp peer neighbour route.
The peer IP address is installed as a connected /32 route.

Hi Alain,
However, in this case its /30. Is this possible?

Hi,
your side is /30 but you should have a /32 for the other side if it is not in same subnet and you are doing PPPoE.
Also for a device doing routing a next-hop doesn't need to be directly connected as long as it recurses to a valid outgoing interface for encapsulation when doing L2 rewrite.

Hi Alain,
Please refer any documentation on this. I would like to understand this in more depth.
Thanks in advance.
