Hello all,
I'm new to Networking and I'm a newbie in Automation. I am here to take suggestion from the experts to solve my issue
We are having a SCADA PC which is placed in the headoffice and we have 50 sites.
We needed to collect data from the PLC s which are placed in each site they have an ethernet port hence we can connect it to router.
So I need to make the connection between all 50 Remote sites and SCADA PC
What are my solutions?
I am sorry if it was a silly question or unclear I'm completely new to Networking and have no much knowledge
Please help me to give the best solution for me in this situation
Thanks in advance
Regards and stay safe
Amal

Hello,
do you have a router at each site ? Your best option is probaby to create a DMVPN network (phase 3). If you are new to this, it might sound a bit complicated. Which it is not...what router models do you have a the head office and the branches ?

Hello,
so basically you are building a network from scratch ? The equipment you need depends on what kind of traffic is traversing the links. Also, obviously, budget is a big thing - how much money do you have to spend ?
I can throw around some preliminary recommendations, such as using an ISR 4451 for the head office, and ISR 900 routers for the branches, but there are many other options, so you would have to provide much more detailed information such as the number of users, the expected amount of traffic, etc.

Our requirement is simple we need to collect the data from the sites
We need to collect data from the Sites where PLC are placed. So we need to make all of them in the same network space then only we can collect data. Users?
I hope you understand the situation we don't have any other use of it expect the data collection. data needs to be collected to the headoffice

Hello,
it sounds like you only need a very low speed data connection. The RV VPN routers would certainly be an option, however, it might even be cheaper to get routers with cellular interfaces, that would send data just when you need it, instead of having xDSL or some other fixed connection, which all cost money.
