Dear all

I want to use sup720 with maximum throughtput, but when I looked into SUP720 datasheet,it was "DFC required"

my question is that how should I use DFC.

I want to select sup720-3bxl to achive

(400mpps)

hi!

The "DFC required" condition means that the linecard that you are using for the traffic should be equipped with a DFC. A DFC is a distributed forwarding engine which sits on the linecards and maintains tables (like mac-table, CEF etc) on the Linecard so that the decision can be made locally for the traffic and doesnot have to be sent to the sup.

So the requirement states that a DFC equipped linecards are required to achieve that performance level.
