Teraterm is blank

Hi I am having trouble connecting my pc to a witch using teraterm and a console cable. I am using Windows 7 and have verified the settings in device manager. Currently the switch has a green SYST light but when I open teraterm all I get is a blank screen. I have switched cables but with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Hello -

1- You could try stepping through the different baud rates under the serial port setup. The default for Cisco is 9600, but someone may have changed it.

2- If possible try the console connection on a different switch just to see if it is unique to this switch and validate the operation of your teraterm and console cable.

Those would be the first steps anyway.
