We are trying to identify a method where the ATM sub-interface shows line protocol UP but the ip reachability to the other side of the PVC is not there due to some issues in the ATM backbone.
Can we would be able to use the track 1 interface ip routing would help us . If so ,when it identifies the ip reachability on the PVC is done, will it log into the router or can it send to the management station. We are trying to deploy the same in 7600 switches running 12.2(18)SXF4.
Thanks

Hi Anasubra,
you could use the method of ATM OAM cell for continuity check. Please see:

Hi ,
Thankyou very much . But I guess the link specifies that the same feature is integrated in 12.2(28)SB. So I guess, since our routers are running 12.2(18)SXF4, the same cannot be used. Is my understanding right ? If so, is there any other method, the same can be ensured .
Once again,Thanks

Hi,
12.2(x)SB is for Cisco 10000 routers. Please try if the command is available on your 7600, as the feature may or may not be have been ported.
An alternative to exact PVC tracking may be "IP SLA".
