Hi all,
How do you generate enough test traffic from a router to another router to saturate a p2p T3 circuit? I want to generate this test traffic so that I can verify the provider actually gives us a T3 bandwidth and I don't want to purchase expensive WAN test equipment. Also, I want to do it directly from the router because most times the LAN is not even set up yet in a new site. TTCP or IP SLA maybe?
Thanks.

If you ordered a plain vanilla DS-3 your test is not necessary.
If you ordered frame relay, it can be subrated and delivered on a
DS-3 interface.

Thanks Vmiller. I guess I have trust issue, especially with the provider. I can't trust them give me a "full" T3 unless I test it thoroughly. Any other idea on how to saturate a T3 circuit from a router?

Hi,
You may try ttcp but avoid it in production network...
