Traffic Shaping on 7200 VXR

Hi All,

We have one cisco 7200 vxr router with three ethernet ports. Out of these three we use only two. One of the ports is connected to the S.P and the other ports terminates into LAN. Now we plan to upgrade our bandwith from current 6 Mb to 10 Mb.

My question is that will it be possible to divide the bandwith into two parts 6 mb and 4 mb and disutibute them on the ethernet ports of the router itself.

or in other words can we divide bandwith on the internal ports of the router itself. We have our own AS No./IP pools and IP Pool and run BGP with the service provider.

Thanks in advance

I have a couple of question before I can provide a possible solution to your situation.

1.- Do you have any shaping appliance available to you. Example: PacketShaper, Riverbed, etc?

2.- You have your own public AS?

3.- Do you have your own public IP block, is it IPv4 or IPv6?

4.- Do you currently have any QoS implemented?

Regards,

Elyinn.-
