Traffic-shaping per vlan on 3550/3750

Hi,

I have a hub and spoke network with layer3 switches.The spoke sites (6 in no.) are classified on per vlan basis, and rate-limited on wan side for 6 Mb traffic.The wan is Ethernet over SDH.The hub site trunk is 100 Mb.I want the Traffic on the hub site to be limited to 6 Mb per Vlan ,so that Spokes should not be able to attract bursty traffic and face a packet drop at SDH(return-Path).

Can i do traffic-shaping on Cisco3550/3750.If yes, what IOS and commands.Further what impact it may have on memory and processor utilization?What other best ways to rate-limit on 3550/3750 are there?

If you want traffic shaping you would need the 3750 Metro version. The standard 3750 and 3550 can only do policing.
