troubleshooting 877 router performance

Hi all,

are there any published packet forwarding figured for a Cisco 877 router when it is performing IPSec and GRE?

When there is around 2.5mbps of throughput, the CPU hit nearly 100% and there are gradual input queue drops.

Would i need to use a different router to obtain higher throughput?

We have a lot of 1841 routers in stock, would they be better in terms of packet forwarding performance?
