Types of link

Hi ,

are there are different type of links ? i know there are like OC3, DS3 , E1 , T1 etc . (physically different and capacity wise different ) Now can any traffic travel on these link IP , MPLS , ATM .What about the link which we terminate on MGX / IGX?

These types of Media are all independant and all have their own low level protocols that support the media itrself. Higher level protocols like HDLC, ATM, Frame Relay all can run on toip of these media. Protocols like IP, MPLS can all run on top of those protocols. So to answer your question all these media types can terminate on the MGX/IGX...
