Please assist.  Practicing a lab by creating a small network dhcp.  I am able to ping my router from my pc but cannot get past the router and ping let's say "google.com"  What would I be missing or why can I not get out into the internet?

Does the host get its default gateway and DNS server form DHCP server?

My pc is static.  Same subnet as the router and switches.

Hi!

Have you configured NAT in the router? (Assuming your google.com representation does not do routing)

Hope it helps, best regards!

JC

Yes I have NAT configured, standard ACL to permit access, ip route as: 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dhcp

on the router.  Switches should be configured fine since the host can ping to the router.  Just can't seem to get to the internet.  I'm wondering what I may not have done or what I have done wrong on the router side.

Hi!

Can you try a traceroute from the host?

Are you seeing the translation in the router?

Regards!

Hi,

Try configure the default route as

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ***DHCP CONFIGURED INTERFACE***

instead of

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 DHCP
