Updating the IOS

I have a couple of 2811 routers that I use in a home lab.

I don't have service contracts on them. Is there any way to upgrade the IOS on them to the latest (15.1.4M12a(MD))?

Both have 15.1.3(T4).

I'm trying to do some configurations around EVN and the vnet subcommand apparently isn't part of this version (VRF yes, VNET no).

Thanks!

There have been multiple discussions about code for routers used in a home lab and requests for ways to get code upgrades. But Cisco still requires an active service contract to download code for upgrades.

You should consider getting Cisco's router simulator, VIRL.  it is available on an annual subscription, and comes with recent code images for that environment.  Perfect for learning.  As a bonus it can similar more than just routers as well, so provides a more complete learning experience.

I paid for it for over a year and could never get it to work.
