Upgrading power supply of CISCO CATALYST Switch CS-2960XR-48LPD-I to 740 Wattts PoE

Good Morning,

I recently purchased 3 Cisco Catalysts Switches 2960XR-48LPD-I

I realized that I should have purchased instead 3 2960XR-48FPD-I. But it is too late. I cannot return the switches to Amazon after 3 months purchase

Is it possible to remove the 640 W AC Power Supply of the Switches 2960XR-48LPD-I and replace them with 1025 Watts Power Supply

in order to upgrade the PoE Power of the Switches 2960XR-48LPD-I  from 370 Watts from 740 Watts.

I do not think it is possible to upgrade the power supply of the 2960X/XR without breaking the warranty.  See image below.

The Power Supply PWR-C2-1025WAC is a FRU type (Field Replacement Unit) as well as the 640 Watts the equiment came with:PWR-C2-640WAC.

It should not void the warranty. The thing is, I cannot find the data sheet for the PWR-C2-1025WAC

My apologies.  I misread your post.  

Yes, the PS for the XR are field replaceable.  I haven't tried replacing the LPD with a 740w PS will make it support 48-ports PoE.

Answer:-NO.

The Catalyst 2960XR-48FPD-I and 2960XR-48FPS-I only support thePWR-C2-1025WAC powersupply.

Thank you for your shedding some light. But there is something misleading though. If you google "compatibility PWR-C2-1025WAC", you will see a list where they show the Switch CS-2960XR-48LPD-I as being compatible with the 1025 Watts AC Power supply.  You might want to check the following website among many other websites,  for compatibility information. :

So why do they show the CS-2960XR-48LPD-I  as being compatible to the PWR-C2-1025WAC Power Supply? Your Response will be appreciated

i know that your post is now a long time ago. But i'm currently in the same Situation.

Did you managed to replace the WS-C2960XR-48LPD-L PSU to PWR-C2-1025WAC ?

And did the Switch now support more PoE Power ?

Would be great if you had a answer for me.
