VLAN enabling

Hi Folks,

While try to enaling sswitching/vlan am getting error

R1(config)#vlan ?

  accounting  VLAN accounting configuration

  ifdescr     VLAN subinterface ifDescr

am using 3640 verion os on GNS 3, Kindly suggest me ...

Hi,

try this:

enable

vlan database

vlan 10

apply

exit

show vlan-sw brief  to verify

All this will only work if you've got a NM16-ESW switching module installed in slot 1

hi,

i just wanna add to what alain posted, to add the switch module in GNS3:

right click on the 3640 > configure > slots > select NM-16ESW > apply or just click OK.

also create the layer 3 SVI that will respond and route your layer 2 VLANs:

interface vlan x

ip address
