VPN backup for T1 lease line between ASA5505 and Cisco2811

I am trying to use a VPN tunnel as a back up to my T1 connection. The main site has an ASA5505 and the remote site with the Cisco2811. I am having a problem brining up the VPN tunnel when the T1 goes down. I have been searching for a sample configuration on the web without any success. Is this workable solution or am I missing something? I would appreciate any help. TIA.

Are you using any routing protocols?

You could use floating static routes..

ip route 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.24.1

ip route 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.5 200

This sets the route via the VPN (192.168.1.5) with a higher AD so it will be used in the event the route to 172.16.24.0 goes down.

Hope this helps.
