WAN port Capability of ISR

Hi,

Recently I had a meeting with a tier 2 ISP. He had two requirements

1)  Router with 2 gbps for WAN ports and 4 1gbps LAN ports.

2) Router with 10 gbps for WAN and 10gbps for LAN.

On going through datasheets I found that ISR4k can deliver 2gig and ASP 1001x can deliver 10 gig, but both of these routers are turning out to be an expensive solution. Competition(huawei) is providing at must lower cost

on 800 series routers, we have 2 gig WAN ports, but on datasheets it is written for upto 15 mbps only.....why is it so as we have WAn gig ports on these series WAN

Please help with a solution..Thanks in advance.

Likely because it provides flexibility to what you can connect to.  And/or, it might also streamline the manufacturing process, i.e. just use a same gig NIC hardware in multiple platforms.
