Hi
We have a company policy over the next year is to centralise all file and print to the data centre (were all applications and citrix servers are currently located) and remove all servers from remote sites.
From a desktop point of view the plan is to replace as many PCs at the remote sites with dumb terminals that boot directly into a fully published Citrix desktop.
The only issue we can see with this strategy is printing. We imagine that removing the local print servers and also any local desktop OS will mean that large print jobs will have to be sent over the WAN.
Does anyone else have a setup like this with no local print servers and just dumb terminals?
Would a WAN accelerator like the Cisco WAAS help in this kind of setup?
Any advice would be apprecaited - thanks
