Hi all. I was wondering about some potential security issues on MPLS, MetroE, T1 etc. My thought is that there are companies that provide these access and that someone who might be a little devious might want to play around a little and sniff "from in between". Are these real concerns and should I be thinking about encryption across these types of remote site access? Thanks.

It is really down to how secure your data needs to be. You are right in that the data is visible to the Service Provider. For a lot of companies this is not an issue as there is a certain level of trust between the customer and the SP.
However if your company data is very sensitive then encryption over the MPLS, MetroE etc. is a definite design choice.

Thanks Jon, I thought that might be the case.
