I have been researching on emerging trends in networking and came across this interesting concept of WAN Virtualization. Refer to the URL below for details -

This is an appliance based solution similar to WAN optimizers which is a two-ended solution. Through the blog describes seamless traffic delivery for even sensitive applications, I am not sure what can be the limitations. Has anyone come across this. Do share your thoughts. Your response will be highly appreciated.
In addition to this, the other emerging technolgoies i came across are
- Software defined Networking (SDN)
- Internet of Things
- Long Term Evolution (LTE) for broadband
