when we use exit interface and when next hop and when both in default

Hello all,

when we use EXIT INTERFACE and when to use NEXT HOP and when BOTH in default routing protocol???

any help!!!!!

exit interface when you have P2P 
both when you have broadcast 
next-hop only I not recommend becuase it have limitation.
