Hello
It due to having routing multiple paths towards the destination, by default traceroute will send out 3 UDP probes with incrementing TTL values to each routing device inpath between source and destination and if it encounters two or more equal paths along the way this will be recorded in the traceroute output.

The default probe <datagram) value can be changed to have a higher or lower value, thus is you decreased it to 1 then in your traceroute only one hop will be recorded and not two.
