Hi,
I have an old 1841 currently in a lab setup currenlty running 12.4, but I need to know without disrupting that setup if this router will (a) run 15.1 and (b) have any memory left over to actually handle dynamic processes. If you could enlighen me, I'd really appreciate it.

Don't think 15.X will fit with only 128 mb of DRAM.

Hello,
I am afraid the image won't be able to run in your router. You have currently 128MB RAM and 256MB FLASH. According to the Cisco Feature Navigator tool at http://cisco.com/go/fn , the image you have referenced requires at least 192MB RAM. It would not even start in your router.
I am sorry to disappoint you.
Best regards,
Peter

thanks for making that as painless as possible.

Hello,
You are welcome. Let me just correct myself - you have 32MB FLASH, not 256MB (I wasn't looking quite properly - sorry about that). However, enlarging the CF is not such a problem - any common CF card under 1GB should run fine. Enlarging the DRAM may be a little more complicated.
Best regards,
Peter
